What is Microplastics?
MICROPLASTICS is a floating debris that been made by human and the existed floating plastic trash at the ocean. The size can be small as 5mm. There are two type of microplastic which is PRIMARY MICROPLASTICS and SECONDARY MICROPLASTICS. Primary microplastic is the man-made small size plastic such as plastic pallets. Meanwhile secondary microplastic is fragment of larger plastic which coming from the floating plastic trash.

Learn About Microplastic
Study show marine organism was found to be ingested the microplastic particle which also been reported sold for human consumption. In Malaysia, an estimated 0.199 trillion of microplastic dispose into marine environment. MICROPLASTICS can be found in marine organisms like shrimp or fish as they thought the small particle were part of their diet.

I'm Fikri, Marine Biology's student from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and interested to deliver message about microplastics throughout the world. With collaboration of Microplastic Research Interest Group (MRIG) from UMT give me chance to explore more about the microplastics research.
